21 Nov Nemanja Matic frustrated by Manchester United role under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic admits he’s become disappointed sitting at the bench this year.
Matic, the midfielder who joined United from Chelsea for 40m in 2017, made his first start of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Leicester, coming into the injured Paul Pogba.
However , up until that week, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was favouring a pivot of Pogba along with Scott McTominay.
«Of course [it has been frustrating],» Matic said. «I wish to perform, I give my best for the group.
«The coach will be the man who picks the team and whenever you’re on the seat you are not happy, but I am attempting to convince him to change his thoughts and select me to playwith.
«The season is long. [Against Leicester] as you watched I playedand we won this match.
«I’m happy so we will see in the future what the trainer will decide.
«I’m ready. In the previous 10 years I have played in a high degree and every game I attempt to do my very best to help the team because I think I’m a team player and that I can help a lot I believe.»
Put to Matic he does not seem the kind of man to knock on a supervisor’s door, he said:»No, I never did that.
«I show my quality about the pitch, and in training sessions and in games. This is not my approach to fight for the place.»
