15 Oct FIRST UNIVERSITIES FOR POVERTY ALLEVIATION STEERING COMMITTEE REUNION

Madrid, 15th October 2014 – After the Third International Conference of Rectors of UNIVERSIA in July, the promoters of “Universities for Poverty Alleviation”  made a proposal to 12 Rectors to join the project Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee’s mission is to guide the activities of universities within the united mobilization “Universities for Poverty Alleviation” and lead changes, not only in their own universities, but also in their home countries.

Some members that have accepted participation in the Steering Committee, have held their first meeting via Skype, where they exchanged views about the project and shared the details regarding the work that their universities already perform on the topic of poverty alleviation.

The final composition of the Steering Committee is as follows:
